I have some 'Y' splitters, so if I have 2 SD8's and a load of Y splitters then im covered I guess

Hi Paul.
If I go for this 'digital splitter' option would I be able to use 2 x SD 8's - (I already have one and like the idea of having a spare as well as being able to use them both together for a 16 out 'splitter'. is this doable instead of a DN4816-O?

How come the 16 ultranet channels come into the first 16 chans of the DP48 which are on AES50?
Is this due to something I have done wrong?

The gains on the X32 would not be adjusted once sound checked as all adjustments would be on the DP48’s

Using a pad to attenuate the line-level signal being sent to FOH would in theory give the FOH engineer more headroom. That's not the main issue though. I’m getting a bit lost with your comments about control of gain and saying line level isn’t the issue? a line level wouldn’t enable the engineer to control gain but if I used an XLR ...

Could I use XLR microphone attenuation adaptors with -20dB PAD on the DN4816-O outs, would that solve the line level problem?
