Yeah, I'm going to play around with this a little later today. I agree that it's not too useful to only have one-way midi, so something isn't right here.

Let me see if I can figure out what is going on in the video. Based on my testing, there's no MIDI messages generated when a control is changed with OSC messages. Might be a config setting that's different.

Just to add, you can also send any OSC message to an XR18 using MIDI SYSEX.

I know of a performer who uses the MIDI baby footswitch by Disaster Area Designs. It appears to be highly programmable, but I haven't played with it. I also know another performer who uses a button on TouchOSC to send the OSC message to his XR18.
