Hey @streamfuchs , another option is to get an M32C (Midas version of X32 Core). It will come with the DN32 USB card and is rack mountable. Since you will have your laptop (with a DAW), you could use M32-Edit to control the preamps remotely.

Hey Paul,

this would be a possibility.
Any idea why the x32core is not build any longer?
Problems? Or was it simply not successfull?

We never got a clear answer from the MT staff when it happened. It could have simply been a Uli decision.

@streamfuchs Simple answer IMO, it did MORE than an M32C yet cost several hundred dollars less. It had programable front panel buttons etc, a single ch scribble strip and more. All the reasons most people would buy Midas over Behringer do NOT exist on an M32C (no pro preamps no million cycle faders) Maybe the one product where Behringer is the superior version of the 2. Why would anyone buy an M32C if you got a better version of it for less money. Many bought them for the Midas name. Easy fix, do away with the cheaper one. Only game in town like it is the M32C. The one positive for the M32C is that fantastic 10 year bumper to bumper warranty. That is hard to match.

It is no smart and flexible idea, but what happens when I use two S16 in Standalone Mode?
With the "FOH" S16 I can control the preamps of the "Stage" S16. What about phantom power? This as well?
And:
Does the AES50 B of the "FOH" S16 carries the audio of the "Stage" S16 as well?
Could that work (of course only for up to 16 channels with two S16)?

If you are using the DN9630, the first S16 needs to be put in mode 11 (48K) or 12 (44K) in order for it to be the master clock (standalone mode). The second S16 can be put in mode 1 or 2 (outputs the same as the first S16 or shifted one bank of 8). If you are using the M32C, it would be the same as with your current X32.
With the "FOH" S16 I can control the preamps of the "Stage" S16. What about phantom power? This as well?
Phantom and gain are part of the preamps (located in the S16, integrated with the XLR-F jacks). So yes both can be controlled by an X32/M32 console.
Does the AES50 B of the "FOH" S16 carries the audio of the "Stage" S16 as well?
If the interconnectivity is as follows ([A] and are the AES50 ports)
FOH [A or B] <-> [A] S16 <-> [A] S16
then the first S16 inputs will be seen on the X32 as AES50 1-16 and the second S16 inputs will be automatically shifted over 16 to be 17-32.

Could that work (of course only for up to 16 channels with two S16)?

Two S16 will provide 32 inputs.

Maybe my idea was not clear.
When using two S16, one on stage and one at my computer side connected with AES50 port A - AES50 port A (standalone) can I use the AES 50 B on the computer side to connect it to a DN9630 to receive the 16 audios from stage via USB in my DAW?

@streamfuchs , yes I did misunderstand your questions. Yes what you want to do will work, as long as you redirect (in the console's routing AES50 screen) the AES50 A inputs (from the stage S16) to the AES50 B (to the DN9630)

But when I do not have a console on site?
That was the original idea, to do recordings without the console??

If you are planning on using the S16 in standalone mode with the DN9630, The AES50 A port of the first S16 (in mode 11) will be connected to the AES50 of the DN9630. Then you simply connect the USB cable between the DN9630 to the computer.

If you decide to go to using the M32C (instead of the DN9630), you would do it as I explained previously.
