Hello guys, I'm new here, I hope you can help me with the following,
I have a Behringer XR16 that I recently acquired, and I've been trying out recording using the USB port. It turns out that when I listen to the recordings, they have hiccup-like cuts, as if it were a scratched vinyl record, completely altering the recording. . Does anyone have the same problem or I have a problem with the equipment.
Thank you for the help
Record sounds bad
Re: Record sounds bad
Hello and Welcome.
I would imagine the write speed could play a part - I've found that larger USB sticks from the same make and era are often slower. If there are many files already on the drive, it could make a difference.
Have you tried multiple devices?
Best, Karn.

Re: Record sounds bad
Are you recording to a USB stick, or to a DAW on Mac/PC connected by USB?

Well actually I've only tried it with one drive, I'll try it with another, thanks for the tip ...
Re: Record sounds bad
Hi Dwayne,
I'm recording directly from the XR16, that is, I have the guitar connected to the V-Amp pro, which I connect to inputs 7 and 8, and I use the output of my interface M-Audio Fast Track R8 Plus connected to channels 9 and 10 to hear the sound from my computer when I record.
Re: Record sounds bad
I think Dwayne was asking how the recording is being taken, not how you are feeding sounds into the XR16.Tutama wrote: ↑Thu Nov 07, 2024 6:41 pmHi Dwayne,

The XR16 can't connect via USB to a computer, only record to a USB stick as far as I know - hence my assumption. The X18 and XR18 have multitrack USB <-> Computer interfaces, but not the XR16.
If you are recording back through the M-Audio interface, then let us know.
Best, Karn.
Re: Record sounds bad
Hi Karn,
Yes, I understood the Dwayne question sorry for my English, I'm Portuguese ... maybe I explained it wrong when I mentioned that I record directly on the XR16, yes I use a USB pen driver directly on the XR16, I know that the XR12 and XR 16 cannot be used as an interface, however I used another pen drive as You advised me, and the problem was solved and the recording was ok. As for the M-Audio interface, used only to listen to the backing track, as connecting the PC's audio output directly to the XR16, it doesn't sound good at all.
Thank you both for your help,
