Pulling My Hair Out Trying to Record Piano in OBS Through Flow8

I am guessing I was overly optimistic or gravely naive that setting up the Flow8 mixer with a digital piano would be easy peasy and recording through OBS on a MacBook Pro would be a seamless operation.

Oh the pain and I am hoping someone here can steer me in the right direction.

Setup:

--Yamaha Avant Grand NX3 piano.

-- L and Right XLR stereo outputs.

-- Connecting piano to one end of

Cable Matters XLR Audio Over Ethernet Snake with 2 Boxes - 4X XLRMale Pigtail Box and 4X XLRFemale Pigtail Box, XLR Snake 4 Channel, Compatible with EtherCON Connector, Black (see https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0CH3VJL ... asin_title)

Red cable to left, blue cable to right

-- At receiving end of snake I connect red and left cables to Flow8

I have tried different iterations of this. XLR cables directly into 1/2 and 3/4, as well as putting a 1/4 adaptor on them and plugging into 5/6 and 3/4.

-- I run the USB cable to the MacBook Pro

-- OBS sees the "flow 8 (recording)" as an input choice and I select it. I make sure nothing is muted on OBS or Flow 8.

-- I make sure USB on Flow 8 is set to recording.

-- I start playing the piano. Butkes. I am getting zero audio signal. I have played with all kinds of settings checks based on google searches, but nothing works.

-- one weird thing - when I switched the Flow8 USB setting to streaming, it looked like some kind of signal was coming into OBS. But I was beyond fried at that point and will check this again tomorrow.

Outside of this setup I am also running a BlackMagic ATEM Mini Pro ISO into another USB Port. The ATEM has three cameras and a wireless lab receiver (NEEEWER CM28) that OBS pulls in with no problem.

Also Blackhole64 is on the computer to handle Mac audio routing issues with DAWS and Notation Software (makes me think I should run the Flow 8 through the Blackhole - will be looking at that tomorrow plus testing to see if other programs have problems bringing in the audio from the Flow 8.

So my questions:

1. am I missing something really obviously here?

2. Does anyone have a cheat sheet that includes screenshots of the set-up and configuration? I have found Behringer documentation lacking to say the least, and even Sweetwater's documentation did not help.
