Sound Recording on PC

Post by Martinius »

Hi, I need some ideas regarding Audio Recording:

We use a Behringer x32 for mixing.
At the moment the output is send to our Stream-PC via USB connection.
...
Every now and then, something went wrong in managing the stream and fading or so AND
therefore we have some minutes no sound in the live broadcast

Now - I am searching for a simple solution to record the input send by X32 to the stream pc.
USB or network (if possible), so we could fix the "quite" minutes in postproduktion of the video.

For USB i found that: https://www.gear4music.at/de/PA-DJ-and- ... odule/3R2X
But still I would need an Idea for Software, if that card would record what we intend...

Any Idea?

Hello, I saw this and am a bit confused as to what you want. What software are you using now on the streaming PC? It would appear that a different device to get it there is not the issue as the usb drivers for the X32 are for the most part stable and the USB card itself is very good (unless defective). The ASIO driver model is the better option. There are lots of DAW possibilities out there, several free. Also are you recording multiple channels or just a stereo output? Lots of people here use Reaper. I use Cakewalk by Bandlab which used to cost in excess of $400 but is now totally free since Bandlab bought the software. Both these programs are very powerful and should work well...but expect a learning curve no matter which software you choose, these 2 or otherwise.

Thanks for reply!
We use vMix for the streaming and yes at the moment "only" stereo sound is what I see "arriving" at vMix, but I am sure that via USB all 32 Channels will be send.
I will have a look at Reaper and Cakewalk by Bandlab

Thanks

I typically use the USB output of my monitor controller for live streaming. So, whatever is on the monitors goes to the stream.
