@CraigG no, that's not a bug. That is just the compressor responding to the mixing of the original signal. You'll find that it dials the compression into the lower part of the spectrum so it thins it out a bit to cut through the mix better, during high energy sections.

That's ok then, It just confused me when I was turning the compression up and not seeing much of a reduction in the meter.

But if you put that mix control back to zero it will smash the audio like a bug! The mix control is the kung-fu. In order to see it work you have to go way overboard initially.

I don't think it is. The mix is just a ratio of wet/dry mix, and the reduction meter is entailing how much gain is needed to compensate for the overal signal loss. Therefore, if the dry signal is a little hotter, it'd make sense that you won't need as much gain compensation.

sorry was half asleep writing that, but you and I had the same thought process on the meters.

@CraigG I played with this some during downtime and after poking around it is my assumption that mix insert point is before the compressor instead of after it as you would typically have. Reducing the mix % should not have any affect on the amount of compression in a typical setup this is a build mistake. Makes using parallel compression kind of finicky
