Hey everyone, I just saw a video showing how we can convert Ultranet to analog outputs using the new Midas DN4816-O stagebox. This is one of the new StageConnect stageboxes that Midas has recently released. But it also can be used to convert Ultranet to analog. Please forgive the camera work and language. It's not my video.

Very interesting. Too bad the guy cannot communicate without a profane word in every sentence.

Indeed interesting and agree on the lack of professionalism with the language. Without addressing it directly, he did say in the comments that the video was initially intended only for his mates via messenger (?) but he decided to post it in case it was useful.
Re: Converting Ultranet to Analog Outputs
Indeed @kmitchell, it is definitely a conversion we've been asking for some years (without the language of course).

Re: Converting Ultranet to Analog Outputs
Pretty decent companion for the X/MR18's too. And from the S/DL 16 and 32 you can get another16, potentially different, analog outs (p16 zone concept) Pretty wild options while never touching a StageConnect port. But if you do have a wing...well wow, even wilder options.
Re: Converting Ultranet to Analog Outputs
So, can you use 2 and get 32 channels? I realize that would be 4 units if you want full I/O.

Re: Converting Ultranet to Analog Outputs
@MJKlein I’m pretty sure the answer is yes, one from the ultranet port on the x32 using the mixers ultra net out routing menu and one from a stagebox fitted with ultranet ports like an S16 (which uses aes50 33-48 routing) Aes50 33-48 can be sourced by lots of useful things. Same principle as the p16m with ultranet “zones”.

Re: Converting Ultranet to Analog Outputs
Actually you can have up to 48 Ultranet channels using 3 zones (as @GaryH explained) - 16 from Ultranet from the back of the console, 16 from a stagebox connected to the console's AES50 A port and 16 from a stagebox connected to the console's AES50 B port. Understand that these are all outputs, since Ultranet is a one direction protocol.

Re: Converting Ultranet to Analog Outputs
@pvannatto @MJKlein If you want to really go crazy with it. A P16I can connect to the stagebox adat out ports (which uses aes50 17-32) it has multiple Ultranet outs which can then connect to the 4816-O P16 in. That's a whole lot of output options, more than I will ever use but it's always nice having options.
