Unvanted adjustment of EQ

Post by nmalexandersen »

Hello all

This is beyond strange ...

My Flow 8 is connected to my MacBook Pro, and acts as a secondary sound card when rehearsing at home.
I use USB 1/2 and USB 3/4 as inputs for logic audio streams.

Now .... every time I load up a new project in Logic Pro X, EQ band nr. 2 on every channel on the Flow 8 is set to negative max (-15 dB)
It's consistent !!!!

Anyone has any idea of what's going on here.

Kind regards Nils

I haven't used Logic all that often, but it does have a lot of settings and in my experience is often counterintuitive - even dumb - for such a smart and powerful program.

I am going to guess something about the default may have been changed:

Or somehow it thinks the Flow 8 is supposed to control it?:

I feel like the solution is somewhere in those links :)

Oh interesting! I would definitely contact support; sounds like a bug.

It could be that Logic is controlling the Flow8 via MIDI . . .

Do you have the ability to control which devices Logic recognizes as MIDI instruments? You should make sure it knows the Flow8 is for audio but not MIDI. Maybe it's sending a signal like "clear all keys" or "set instrument volume to 0" and the Flow8 is interpreting that as an adjustment to the EQ.

If you are on Mac, I know there's a midi control panel where you should be able to disable the MIDI on the Flow8 from the system talking to it.

(Of course you can sort of work around this by saving a preset or snapshot.)

You might also have luck starting your project and then powering up the Flow8, so that troublesome moment doesn't happen while the Flow8 is alive.
