Hello,
I am about to replace 2 beringer s16 stageboxes with a midas dl151 ( 24 preamp in) and dl154 ( 8 preamp in, 16 out )
The plans are to use the new setup with an x32 or a wing.
It heard that the dl150's cannot be daisy chained, and that I will need to run one aes50 cable per stagebox.
Is this true? And what is the reason for this?
Will I loose the possibility for redundancy for my aes50 connections?
Thank you for any tips.
Best regards,
Rolf
2 midas dl150 stageboxes, how to connect to x32 or wing?
Re: 2 midas dl150 stageboxes, how to connect to x32 or wing?
Yes that is true. The reason is because that is how those pro stageboxes are designed (according to the MT developers).
Yes, redundancy is only available with the Pro line of the Midas consoles. The X32 and Wing do not have this feature.
Make sure that both stageboxes are set to 48KHz (not 96KHz).

Thanks Paul voor the quick reply.

@rolfdc They can’t be daisy chained to one another or pass data to another stagebox using their redundant port but can send/receive at the end of one leg via the port they do have. So you could use say the Wing A port and go to an S16 A port and then from the S16 B port to the DL154. Same 48 ch bidirectional limits in play being aes50.(that info from an owner of a DL pro stagebox in another forum)
