Connecting s16’s

Post by andyp13 »

Hi I am going to swap out my X32 Rack with a m32c and an S16 - I know it’s not saving rack space, but the idea is to lighten the weight. Also taking my Axe III out and putting it in its own rack.
I also will be using another S16 on the other side of the stage. I will have My HUB4 connected to the AES50 ‘A’. So my question is..can I daisy chain the two S16’s AES50 ‘B’ from m32c to AES50 ‘B’ of first S16 then AES50 ‘A’ out of the s16 into AES ‘B’ of second S16.
Are there any limitations to this?

How is that going to make it lighter? The X32 Rack weighs 6.5 kg. But the combination of an M32C and S16 is 8.2 kg (3.5 and 4.7 respectively). See respective manuals.

For the question about daisy chaining S16, the console side of the chain has to connect to the S16 AES50 A port (always). The B port is for cascading added stageboxes. The reason is because the inputs, outputs and preamp controls (gain and phantom) can only be accessed from the A port.
