Mixing Station Pro Setting Nominal Levels

Post by pbatts »

I am an XR18 owner/user for five years. Recent iOS and XAir updates have me in the same situation as a lot of users in that XAir on iPad is no longer usable do to constant crashing. I recently found and purchased Mixing Station Pro and am still learning my way around the app.

My questions is regarding setting nominal levels.

I've always been taught to set nominal levels on the XR18 to -18dBFS. My confusion is -18dBFS using X-Air-Edit equals 0dBFS in the Mixing Station Pro app (desktop version).

What am I missing?

Thanks

Hi @pbatts, welcome to our forum. The answer to your question is that the nominal level typically is where the VU meter changes from green to yellow (or whatever color the developers choose). With Mixing Station Pro, that is just below the 0 mark.
