A simple IFTTT program for MIDI and OSC

Post by pmaillot »

Just uploaded a simple program to manage IFTTT scenarios from a text definition file with MIDI and OSC as inputs and outputs, or launching an external app.

Simple but effective :). Can help in many situations. Link below (don't mind the WING logo, it is not a WING program and will directly jump to the correct section)

This looks great Patrick - a good candidate for a Raspberry Pi app, don't you think?
I did notice a typo in the pdf doc on page 4. The help text output 8th line probably should be
M: MIDI Output enabled

Hello,

Thanks for checking the doc... I'll fix this.

As to a Linux/Rpi version, I don't know how to manage MIDI ports under these OS. Need to look into that. If you have pointers...

But it's fun to launch an external program from a midi note or an OSC pattern! :)

Doc fixed!

as to Linux/Rpi MIDI, I found a few things... I may look into this but adding threads to read MIDI to the 'simple' program will take me a little time. Windows does this nicely withjust a call back, although the Linux init phase for MIDI seems a lot simpler than the one for Windows.

Off Topic
I have to say - this is exactly the kind of discussion and development I was hoping would evolve on this platform. Its amazing to think that I can define regions in Reaper and then have the lights in my studio change colors between the verse/chorus/solo sections!
