X32 compact
Re: X32 compact
@Afinepoint, taking pictures of the display is not exporting your scene to a file. Furthermore, clicking on those small images does not provide a bigger picture, so these are useless. You need to export your scene to a file, then attach it to your post. Here are the instructions.
* Insert a USB 2.0 thumbdrive (formatted with FAT32) in the USB slot on the top of the X32
* Press the View button for scenes on right side
* Select the Scenes screen (second tab) using the left or right arrow
* Select an empty slot in the list
* Press the 2nd encoder (Save) and name the scene
* Press the Utility button (on right side of display)
* Press the 6th encoder, then Save (same encoder)
* Transfer the USB thumbdrive to your computer.
* Here in the forum, before posting, change the editor to Full Editor & Preview (below).
* Below the editor, click on the Attachments (second tab), Choose the file (find the file on the thumb drive), then OK
* Click on Add the File
* Finally, click on Submit

@pvannatto Can you please add those instructions to the Wiki here so we can link to it when we ask others to post their scene here.pvannatto wrote: ↑Wed Nov 08, 2023 3:49 pm @Afinepoint, taking pictures of the display is not exporting your scene to a file. Re: X32 compact
Thanks for taking care of that Paul. Thanks for the excellent suggestion Ken.

Thanks. "What" to do wasn't very helpful for someone like me. I needed the other half. Now I know "how" to do it. Agree these instructions need to be a sticky.
Re: X32 compact
The dedicated Wiki is superior to sticky posts because one does not have to search through each forum to view the sticky posts. The Wiki is a single place for all such setup and operational information that needs to be readily accessed.Afinepoint wrote: ↑Thu Nov 09, 2023 9:55 pm Thanks. Re: X32 compact
Both ch1+ch3 get their signals from preamp#1 on the rear of the console (ch config both set to In01, Routing>Inputs Input1-8 set to Local1-8.)
Your console's 8 XLR outputs (assuming you're still using a Compact with only 8x XLR outs) are set to post-preamp of local XLR inputs 1-8 (Routing>XLR first 2 blocks of 4 outputs are set as Local 1-8.) Whatever amps you're feeding from those outputs will only be affected by preamp gain on those inputs; nothing after that, including fader movements. You don't have your console's XLR outputs set to any LR\bus outs at all.
Ch3 feeds bus1, and although the ch3>bus1 send is up, and the bus1 master is up, bus1 is also set to be controlled by DCA2, whose fader is turned down to -inf. There will be meter activity at the input of bus1, but not at its output. Also as previously mentioned, bus1 isn't routed to an XLR output.

Re: X32 compact
Thanks for the scene file. It explains a lot, which we would never have guessed without it.
@craigf explained what is wrong with the setup. But let me explain a few things.
* When you see "Local", it means the female XLR input jacks on the back of the console
* The Routing, XLR screen assigns signals to the male XLR output jacks on the back of the console. This should not be assigned "Local", since that means the signals from the female XLR inputs are going directly to the male XLR outputs without going through the channel strips. This should be assigned Out 1-4 and Out 5-8 instead. The individual outputs are then assigned on the Routing, Out screen. If you want Main L and R to go out the first 2 outputs, assign Main L and Main R to Outputs 1 and 2 respectively.
Attached is a fixed scene file that you can import either using the X32-Edit or using a USB thumbdrive and Utility button (5th encoder is to import). This fixes the routing problems as well as channel 3 source issue that Craig mentioned.
