@MJKlein I built a Flying V style kit ( higher end pieces came from Warmoth) for my son, it came out really nice but weighs a ton and the V shape makes "lap" playing impossible. Was a nice winter project about 10 years or more ago. He still has it! I still have a few other partcasters. Oddly you can't get many $ for them as a whole, but part them out and make $...too strange. Kept me out of trouble for a few years really.

Hey that's cool @garyh. I've never seen a V kit. Mine has that piece of non-slip mat on the edge, but it's in a routed space so it's actually below flush. The way to play a Flying V sitting down is to put your leg in the crotch of the V. It ends up being one of the most comfortable guitars to play because it never slips out of place while playing seated (if you "crotch it"). My SGs and other standard form factor guitars are always slipping off my lap.
