DCX2496 Mac remote control ?

Usually I use WIN xp with DCX2496 remote 16 to control my DCX296s

Now I read @

how to create a sym link ( ? ) in the terminal inside Wine
that points to my USB to Serial Adapter ( FTDI )
When launching DCX2496 remote 16, I can fold down COM1 port,
but the DCX2496 isn't found...
Search for DCX2496 freezes the DCX296 remote app

Can someone help ?
The DCX2496 is still sold

I would like to use my Macbook Pro with High Sierra and reduce the
number of laptops that I carry with me

sym links under mac/linux are 'ln -s' commands, as describe in the youtube video you posted, and I would think this should work. Now, I don't use mac, and I don't use Wine or CrossOver so I can't help much.

Windows-like shortcuts do not act as real sym links so I don't think that would be what you're after.

As I said, the WIN DCX-remote app shows the COM 1 port, but doesn't see the DCX2496
I even asked Musictribe via ticket, but they don't even mention/reply to my question in the ticket re: could the WIN app DCX-remote be the problem ?
