S16/DL16 in Daisy Chain Master mode "shift"

Regarding the Daisy Chain Master shift: It's not really a shift IMO (see below) it's more like subtraction. The daisy chain master doesn't work like the regular 'old' S16 modes in this regard.

When in Daisy Chain Master Mode the daisy chain master device itself gets aes50 ch 1-8 for its OWN xlr ouputs and will not PASS those 8 ch's on to its next stagebox neighbors. If you put the next stagebox after it in mode 1 or switch position '1-8', it will NOT get aes50 1-8 nor will any additional stagebox after that. They will instead receive aes50 9-32. That is, switch position 1-8/mode 1 will carry aes50 9-16, switch position 9-16/mode 2 will carry aes50 17-24 and switch position 17-24/mode 3 will carry aes50 25-32. The difference, with a 'normal' non DCM Daisy Chain Master) S16, a second or third S16/SD8/16 after it can each be set to mode 1/switch position 1-8 and still recieve aes50 1-8 if you want them to. It seems a point worth some clarification to me.

EG I connected an SD8 and S16 to a DCM S16:

X32 A<>A S16 DCM B<>A SD8 B<> A S16#2 B

Neither the SD8 or the second S16 can access aes50 1-8, it is reserved for the DCM S16 xlr outputs. BOTH the SD8 and S16#2 can access aes50 9-32. All stageboxes that have adat ports can still access it as aes50 17-32. All stageboxes with ultranet ports use aes50 33-48 as usual also. It is really just a matter of understanding the stagebox in Daisy Chain Master mode is the only stagebox in the chain that CAN output aes50 1-8

@GaryH Yes "as the skunk said when the wind changed 'It all comes back to me now'". I saw your other thread that explained it. Those were added so that the stagebox and DL9630 could be used as a standalone system (without a console). Thanks for posting that info.
