Gooseneck lamp?

Post by jasal82 »

Hi,

can someone recommend a gooseneck lamp for the Wing? I think that not every one will fit due to the fact that the connection panel is set back from the board quite a bit, so the gooseneck has to run around that edge. Also the 90 degree connectors are probably not a good match, better get a straight one?

Thanks,
Johannes

Get a long gooseneck lamp if you can find one (I built mine out of an Ikea lamp a while back for my X3 and it's barely long enough). Or maybe an option is to get one of those long strips of LEDs that adapt on top of the console. I don't know the brand names, but saw a few pics of some consoles equipped with them. I guess they connect using a wire running to a 4pin XLR.

I got one of these but I can't remember if it was 18". https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail ... d-straight

I would strongly suggest buying the LittLite brand I have had trouble with the other ones. The WING is setup for a show and I will be at the auditorium today and If I remember I will measure the one that I have. I am usually doing musical theater with this setup and I don't want a light that is too bright and this works fine for me. It just plugs straight into the back and then comes up around next to the screen.

I measured it, the LittLite LED Gooseneck lamp I am using is the 18" version.

The one I assembled out from an Ikea lamp is 50cm/19.7", plus the connector and lamp itself, therefore almost 60cm/23"

two extra long ones from Ali express, a couple of 4 pin connectors and 4 pin bulkheads, short length of cable for each, and build the bulkhead connectors into the dog box. Did the same with a talkback mic

@jasal82 I have had one similar to this for 3 years without issue (22 in) That particular one is not available any more but this one is. Mine was NOT right angle, I am unsure if a right angle type would work BUT if you wanted that they make a 24 in version that is brighter (2 W) for similar $. From Amazon, which roughly translates to 'try it for 30 days and if you don't like it, return it' Can't beat the price.

This one I purchased from Amazon for $35 USD. It works well enough. Around 20% is where it becomes fairly noticeable to light up.
