3D Printer Recommendations

Post by MJKlein »

I'm considering a 3D printer and I'd like to known what others are using and why.

Thanks.

I'm using a Dagoma 3D printer. Designed and made (3D printed) in France. Reason is because I had it part of a business deal; they are based in Roubaix, where my (ex) employer is and the two companies had a deal for employees to get kits at a great price.

Oh, so now you tell me, now that you're retired and can't get those employee deals anymore, lol. I'm going to check that one out. Thanks Patrick!

I'm using the Creality Ender 3, which is a very common 3D printer. I find the support by the company very substantial. There are many upgrades available both from the company and 3rd party. Replacement parts (if something breaks) are also readily available.

Once you get one, you will wonder how you ever lived without one. Not only for designing of new products, such as Wing accessories, but to replace broken or missing items around the house. It would also be excellent for prototyping products for your business as well.

By the way, I'm planning on publishing here more of my 3D print files of various accessories and solutions that I've developed over the years.

Very cool @pvannatto. My daughter has school projects that it would be useful for.

There is an Ender 5 on our big shopping app:

Does that one look ok @pvannatto?

Yes that Ender 5 is also a very nice printer @MJKlein . One of my co-workers got one last year (before I retired) and he was very pleased with it.

The price on that unit from that particular seller is lower than the others. I was thinking that maybe it was an early revision. But for that price I think it's worth the gamble to find out. Thanks Paul.

The nice thing about the Ender printers is that they are easily upgradeable. I have the original version of the Ender 3. They now have the Ender 3 v2 and Pro versions. I could, if I wanted to, upgrade mine to either newer model with parts including the motherboard.
