How to use external hardware reverb

Post by Soundgood »

I'm still very new to the Wing and am using it in a studio environment.
I have 2 external hardware reverbs that I'd like to hook up.
One of them connects with AES/EBU and the other is audio cables.
I've tried using the "EXTERNAL" module in a bus insert, but I can't figure out the routing.
In the case of the AES/EBU in the "EXTERNAL" module, how should the send and return be routed?
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Or could you point me to a tutorial?
Thanks!

Are you using Dante, or USB for the console-to-DAW interface?

Depends on how tight you are on channel and bus usage.
You could always route a bus to a physical output and bring it back on a stereo aux like an analog desk.

If you want to insert it on a channel with the external effect, patch the external effect on one of the 16 fx rack positions. Switch to the Routing page and assign to outputs. On the right side source selection, switch to the Fx Send bank and patch the L/R signal from the Fx Rack number. Select the signal type and assign the physical input where you're bringing the signal back to the console.

Thanks!
That worked.
Much appreciation.
The AES/EBU connection to my reverb sounds clean and clear and I save a couple of audio connections.
The more I dive into the Wing, the more I like it.
