Bass input level too high?

Hi.
I have a problem with my XR18.
Would like to mix our band and the Bass input always is to hight.
Our Bass player plays a bass with active pickups and a Tech21 SansAmp Bass Fly Rig.
I reduced the input gain to lowest level. But even with that settings, the input is too hight.
Is there anything more I can do?
Or what can the Bass player do?

Tell the bass player to press the IN PAD button. It is designed to pad (lower) the signal from an active pickup. If that doesn't work, instead of connecting to the XLR jack, connect a guitar cable to the Out jack (1/4") on the back to a DI that has one (or more) pads. Then connect the DI to the snake/console.
