Livestream Mixbus vs Matrix
I personally use mixbus for my livestreaming, but I see a lot of people using a Matrix. Is there an advantage to using a Matrix over a Mixbus for streaming? One challenge I think a matrix solves is how to hear the audio as you are mixing. Currently I use headphones connected to my external audio interface going to the computer. I believe you can use the monitor jack on the X32 to listen to a matrix.
Re: Livestream Mixbus vs Matrix
Mix buses and matrix buses can be individually solo'd (monitored) on the X/M32.
The choice of mix vs matrix is really about how your livestream mix is assembled.
Mix bus is a 'mix' of input channels. The main LRC buses are mix buses as well as Aux1-16.
Matrix bus is a 'mix' of mix buses.
Frequently (not always) a matrix bus livestream is simply an altered copy (gained, compressed, limited) of main LRC.
Mix bus livestream (pre or post-fader tap) will provide more individual channel control over the livestream output.
IMO simple monikers of 'mix' or 'matrix' livestreaming are inappropriate without more description of how even those buses are assembled.
