Wing Accessories 3D Print files
Wing Accessories 3D Print files
A few weeks ago Patrick made a headphone holder for his Wing and sent me the print file. That got my creative juices going and decided to make a number of Wing accessories using OpenScad (which I'm in the process of learning). The end result was an enhanced headphone holder, a tablet holder (set of 2 brackets) and gooseneck light holder. Here are the 3D print files (stl) and the OpenScad file (scad). The 5mm knurled knob is borrowed from Thingiverse.com. Enjoy.

Hey Paul at one point you were going to make some rj45 clip locks. Did you ever? Much needed for the IQ speaker and P16 systems. I keep threatening to buy a 3D printer...

No I didn't, forgot all about it actually. Let me see what I can do. Does your Ultranet cables have the protective boots on them or not?

Re: Wing Accessories 3D Print files
No I don’t use the boots usually, no huge deal and it certainly is not a rush (after a whole year plus of no shows) but looking here made me think of it again. I made some thin plastic pieces as wedges that work to a degree, or nothing at all and hope nobody pulls them out on purpose or by mistake. There are also commercial ones available too I’ve yet to try.

Hi Andy,
Here are some images from the OpenScad (open source CAD software). The clamp has a hole and recess for an M5 nut for an M5 bolt/screw.

You guys do realize that I make castings and machined parts for a living, right?
If you have any ideas for a commercial cast metal (maybe plastic) product I am probably able to bring it to fruition.

Re: Wing Accessories 3D Print files
What I really would like is a padded armrest to go where the mobile phone holder is on the X32 ("was" actually. I took that thing off before I even powered up the desk, lol). I use the user assigned buttons so much that a nice pad there would be great.

Re: Wing Accessories 3D Print files
Not "easy" to print though. 3D printers individuals use are typically meant to print with PLA, a plastic that is pretty hard after printing.
There are options to use different material (flexible for example) to create a mesh that will take place on top of the 'hard' base. I'll check if my 3D printer can handle this.
If you have a sketch of the shape you'd like on top of the X32 as a palm rest, sent it here.
