How to use channel faders to adjust card input

Post by radadad2e »

Hi All,

We have a bus for live stream out. Adjusting the levels into the bus is difficult because our sound room is not isolated. What we hear on headphones is overwhelmed by ambient noise during practice/performance.

I have a dream: I'd like to use card out to record 32 tracks in a DAW and, when the band is not playing, play that back into the x32 so I can adjust sends into the live stream bus. Explicitly:
1. Record in a DAW
2. Playback through x32
3. Adjust channel sends into the live stream bus

I'm able to record in a DAW and play it back through the x32 - good. But channel faders have no effect; neither on the main mix or the live stream sends.

Can this dream be achieved?

Hi @radadad2e, welcome to the forum. Evidently the routing setup is incorrect. The best and quickest way to help you is to have you export your scene to a file, either using the Utility button and export to a USB stick, or use X32-Edit and export to a file on the computer. Then attach that file (using the full editor and Attachments tab below). That way we can have a look and better advise.

@pvannatto This was another question I had. My scene is attached. Could you point me in the right direction?

In order for a virtual soundcheck to work on an X32, the assignments on the Routing, Inputs and Routing, Card (record mode) must be identical. Currently on your scene file, that is not the case. Routing, Card outputs 9-16 and 17-24 have User In 9-16 and 17-24 assigned - and User In 9-24 have nothing assigned to them. The attached scene file will work.
