Hello everyone.
We have a Behringer Wing along with a S32 and S16 stage boxes. Plus a X32 Rack for broadcasting.
We have an issue where we can't control the gains for anything connected to the S16 stagebox.
Right now they are connected as such:
Wing AES-A --> S32-A / S32-B -- S16-A / S16-B --> X32 Rack.
Any ideas on how we can fix this? Pretty sure it's something incredibly simple.
Thanks.

Re: S32 and s16 stageboxes
Hi @Fabiano, welcome to our forum. There is a good chance that the S32 is sensing the X32 Rack downstream (B port) even though the S16 is between. The S32 is a unique stagebox that functions automatically in one of two modes. In one mode the B port is connected to another stagebox and correctly cascades it to the console connected to its A port. The other mode has 2 consoles connected to it (A and B) where both consoles have access to its inputs, but only the A port console has preamp and output control. I would suggest that you connect the X32 Rack to the Wing's AES50 B port and see if you then have preamp control of the S16. The other thing you can do is make sure the S32 has the latest firmware installed.

Re: S32 and s16 stageboxes
This may be irrelevant, but when I got my first X32 I connected up with a random CAT cable. Everything showed up as working, but I couldn't control input trims. Turned out only 6 of the 8 pins on the RJ45 were connected. Don't know which ones, but replacing it with a fully working cable fixed it.
If you're using a new cable, make sure it fully works. If you're using a trusted cable, listen to Paul.

Updated firmware on Wing and S16. Tried updating S32 but it already had the latest version.
Disconnected cable from X32 going to S16.
Still not able to control gains on S16.

Are you getting sync (green light) between the S32 and S16?
Also, is the SN Master light on the S16 lit? If so, you are using the wrong mode (see S16 Configuration)

All green lights between S32 and S16.
We have the S16 on the first option with outs 1-8 coming out of the S16 and 9-16 coming out of the S32.

Re: S32 and s16 stageboxes
@Fabiano, try reversing the order of stageboxes
Wing [A] <-> [A] S16 <-> [A] S32
Wing [A] <-> [A] S16 <-> [A] S32

Re: S32 and s16 stageboxes
@pvannatto,
The other day I was trying a few different things and noticed that when we do try to adjust the gains to whatever is connected to the S16, although it doesn't affect the gain or volume, it will show on the front screen of the S16.
So for example, for channel 1, whenever we increased the gain from 0 to 25, no noticeable difference was made in the gain but when we looked at the front screen on the s16 at channel 1, it shows the gain at 25.
I have also connected just the S16 to the Wing A -> A, and still no control of gains.
Baffling.

Re: S32 and s16 stageboxes
I would suspect there is something wrong with that S16.
Can you control the gains of that S16 from the X32 Rack (eg. X32 Rack as master [A] <-> [A] S16)? If not, there must be something wrong with that stagebox.

Any chance "lock Stagebox" got enabled somehow (or similar HA settings) by the X32? Maybe worth a look...
