at 0:39 the narrator says: "The latency of each audio subscription is determined by the higher latency settings on the receiving and transmitting devices."
Most engineers tend to view this as "the weakest link" and in my own Dante network, when I have to send audio to the slowest device I have to take that into consideration. That is why all the Dante guys I've talked with say that the slowest device sets the network speed. It is a viewpoint apparently and not a technical truth.
So, the individual devices are set to their individual settings and between device subscriptions the higher number sets the latency for that subscription, which if I am not mistaken is what @heavy90 has been trying to tell us.
I know I said I was done with this topic, lol but I had just spent about 4 hours at the mixing desk and was too wound up to sleep, so I checked Audinate's YouTube channel for that video, and there it was. I got about 3.5 hours sleep so wow, it's 1981 all over again.
I completely agree. We just have to listen to what they are saying!
